John Thackara - an expert on design, innovation, and new media - is Director and firstPerceptron of Doors of Perception www.doorsofperception.com , a conference and knowledge network based in Amsterdam. He is also a member of expert groups advising the European Commission on its innovation policy. He is an expert on design, innovation and internet. The theme of the latest doors of perception conference in the autumn of 2002 was flow and the design challenge of pervasive computing.
